Week 5 (Sprint 2, Hackathon)

For this week, we had to spent 2 full days working on our project in school. On the third day, we had to do a pitch to our teachers-in-charge to convince them that our idea is a good innovation to help make Ngee Ann a Smart Campus. For the 2 days straight, we had to come in at 9am to start our project, then in the afternoon we had to report back to our teacher to do a small run down of we had done for the better part of the morning. During these 2 days, we were working on being able to rename the map to better identify the map to retrieve it. Also, we were trying to work on making the placing of the "Nodes" more user-friendly by placing more recognition points in the area for the camera to easily recognize the surroundings and obtain the correct direction to lead the user. We are also using MAC address of the certain location to be able to recognize where the user is for them to locate the correct Node to appear. For now there are still some bugs, meaning there might be times where the map does not load at all and there is no direction shown to the user. Also, besides this, we have been working on obtaining the Bus API and Weather API, learning how to integrate these information obtained into unity and display it on the mobile application for the users to see. We had also came up with a poster for our mobile application to better attract users to use when it is released to the public.

We had managed to make into the final round with the Best idea for Smart Campus, where we had to pitch NAV X to the other top teams from other themes and we had managed to emerge as the top team with the most innovative idea among all themes. We are still working hard on improving the functionality of the mobile application and hope to make it into a campus scale project.
